GIF: Prospect Jace Peterson’s Glorious Homer of Yesternight

Peterson HR 2

Earlier this afternoon, the present author published a ca. 1900-word screed at popular internet website FanGraphs designed ostensibly to examine a kind of baseball prospect that appears particularly immune to failure but intended secretly to herald relatively unheralded San Diego shortstop prospect Jace Peterson.

Owing to what some might regard merely as “coincidence” but what the present author feels perfectly comfortable referring to as “the only proof one needs of the Judeo-Christian God,” the aforementioned Peterson — who plays shortstop with some competence, it should be noted — produced an impressive season debut, going 3-for-4 for Double-A San Antonio with a home run and stolen base.

Footage of the home run, which is both glorious and full of glory, has been embedded above — in an effort, that, to facilitate for the reader an opportunity to eff the ineffable.

Carson Cistulli has published a book of aphorisms called Spirited Ejaculations of a New Enthusiast.
