Hello everyone. Welcome the Edward Jones Chatting Cage, where we get to know more about some of the biggest people in MLB baseball. I’m your host, Jeremy Brisiel. Today, we’re talking to the new president of the Houston Astros, Reid Ryan. Reid, thanks for joining us.

Thanks, for having me, JB.

Reid, you’re only a few weeks into your new position with the Astros, but there’s a good buzz around you and what people think you can do for the organization. How excited are you to be taking the helm of the Astros?

ryancage1

Well I’m very excited, JB. We have a good young crop of players and, in my opinion, the smartest front office in baseball. It should be a lot of fun, and I’m really looking forward to it. I’m also looking forward to getting out of this cage. Very much so.

And if all this weren’t enough commotion for you, the amateur draft is coming up next week. Your club has the first pick in the draft for the second straight year. We know the Astros are working hard to create a strong core of young players that will help the team win in the future. So the question is: who are you going to pick first?

ryancage1

Well, JB, I wish I could tell you. We’re looking at a lot of talented young men, and I’m confident our front office will make a great pick.

I thought you’d say that, Reid, so we’re gonna put you on the hot seat courtesy of the Edward Jones Chatting Cage’s Charbroiler of Truth, sponsored by Famous Dave’s.

Jesus! Jonathan Gray! We’re picking Jonathan Gray, OK!?

chattingcage

Wow! You heard it here first, folks. We’ll see how soon Gray can help the Astros turn the corner into a winning team again. OK, Reid, I have to ask. A lot has been made about your father, and how you’re following in his footsteps, so to speak. I have to know … Oh, I see you’ve found Monster, the official bobcat of the Edward Jones Chatting Cage.

ryancage2

If anyone is watching this, please call the police. I want to get out of here. I want to go home.

chattingcage

No need for that Reid, you’re done. Thanks for taking the time to talk with us.

ryancage2

…nice kitty…

Notgraphs should explore some relevant corporate sponsorships. For instance, I hear Burger King will give you money if you set part of a story there. Be sure to mention the free refills.
