Well, PitchFX says his average FB was 89.5 last night, so your 89-90 nailed it.

I was at Skaggs’ game last night. The Rangers hit 4-5 balls right on the nose that were just hit right at guys. He was a little lucky. The thing that makes me nervous about Skaggs is his margin for error is very small. His FB is not electric so it has to be perfectly placed. His curveball has to be ON and thrown for strikes, not just be his out pitch thrown in the dirt. His change-up has improved which gives him a better chance than before but he’ll have bad outings to go with the good outings when all those hard-hit balls don’t find gloves. I’m not seeing a TOR guy here, maybe a 3 on the high side and more likely a 4-5 in a good rotation. And I’m a Dbacks fan so I’m biased.
