whats great about this is that Fernandez’s changeup is supposed to be his worst pitch, but he was pretty dominant with it tonight. His fastball command was off because his shoulder was flying open, but that changeup really helped him get through the struggle

Maybe this is just personal experience, but an open shoulder can often be the cause of a better changeup/sinker. It makes sense that it causes better tailing rotation.
