Mets Announce “Instagram” Broadcast for Brooklyn Viewers

NEW YORK, NY — In an effort to attract a largely untapped but also generally affluent demographic, the New York Mets, in conjunction with local carrier WPIX, presented an Instagram broadcast this weekend — available only to viewers in the New York borough of Brooklyn — of their spring-training game against the Miami Marlins.
The broadcast, which featured what appeared to be Instagram’s popular Walden filter with a radial tilt shift, is hoped to help facilitate interest among fashionable Brooklyn residents who might otherwise have no idea what baseball even really is.
“This is an exciting partnership for us,” said John D’Amico, manager of on-air content at WPIX. “With the use of Instagram’s filters and other photo-editing tools, viewers can now see what Mets games would look like if a twee Wesleyan graduate were in charge of production.”
D’Amico went on to confirm that plans were in the works, as well, to have future games accompanied by instrumental pieces by popular Scottish band Mogwai and French duo Daft Punk.
