Help My Scoresheet Team
My list of 14 keepers in my AL-only Scoresheet league is due on Friday. We start with 13 keepers and 2 crossover privileges for players who are now in the NL. I traded for an extra keeper and an extra crossover privilege.
The players I’m sure I’m keeping:
SP: Sale / Peavy / Price / Milone
C: Santana
1B:
2B: Pedroia
SS: Asdr. Cabrera
3B: Moustakas
OF: Swisher, Hamilton, BJ Upton (crossover)
That leaves me with three slots, with up to two of them able to be crossovers. I think I know who I’m keeping, but given my decisions in previous years (picked Austin Jackson over Jacoby Ellsbury pre-2011, picked Colby Rasmus over Austin Jackson in 2012), I should probably ask for help.
My candidates are Marcum, Beckett, and Masterson for my 5th starter, Papelbon and Rodney in the bullpen, Morneau and Morales at first base. I don’t have to pick one from each of those categories — I can fill in my gaps in the draft — but I think I’m most comfortable going into the draft with five starting pitchers, a first baseman, and, since I have the space, one reliever.
I finished second last season, and I think I have a pretty solid core, but these decisions on the margins always seem to get me. Thanks for the help.
