For Your Consideration: Dayn Perry’s Drinking Log
News you can use… to feel better about your own drinking habits.
Dayn Perry, of both CBSSports.com’s Eye on Baseball and the present charming weblog, made it known recently during an appearance on FanGraphs Audio that he has made a habit of recording, via some manner of internet spreadsheet, a (mostly) accurate account of the number of adult beverages that he (i.e. Perry) has consumed every day since last November.
Today, by means both nefarious and degrading, the author has acquired the internet spreadsheet in question — to which spreadsheet the reader himself can gain access by clicking here.
While the data deserves much in the way of analysis and manipulation (which the reader is invited to provide), here are some initial findings:
• Perry, since last November, has consumed a total of 1,315 drinks — or, roughly 26.7 per week.
• The most drinks Perry has consumed on any one day is 13 — on Saturday, January 21st and also Saturday, August 11th.
• Perry’s most drunken week — the one beginning March 5th, 2012, during the course of which he consumed 41 adult beverages — happens also to have been the one (i.e. week) during which Perry attended FanGraphs’ spring-training excursion in Phoenix, AZ.
