Cyclopean Pitchers

I cannot say with any certainty why I drew these.

Alex Rodriguez and Friends

If you have not looked at Alex Rodriguez’s Facebook page recently, a) why the devil not?, and b) you may not have seen this photograph, taken on a recent trip to the Dominican Republic, that features Our Hero alongside fellow baseballists Joseph Bats and Señor Octubre.

Due to cropping, though, we are missing out on who else is in the photograph. We have also missed out on THE FULL STORY. As an Artist, I am here to fix that for you.

Switch-Drawing AL Parks

As promised in my previous post, I present to you the results of an experiment: drawing wrong-handed. I am left-handed, and these drawings were done with my right-hand. Mostly I wanted to do these drawings because my brain is wont to wander off down dark corridors. Down one of those corridors lives the fear that my stronger left-hand will one day be mangled in an oil derrick, and I will be forced to learn how to use my right hand to do things, and will, in all likelihood, lose my career as someone who draws stuff. I’m heading off that fear, though, by trying to learn myself to draw right-handed. Take that, oil derricks of the world! Anyway: wrong-handed drawings of American League parks, fields, stadiums, coliseums, and centres.

Switch-Drawing NL Parks

Hello, NotGraphs readers. My name is Craig Robinson. Not that one. Or the one who played for the Phillies, Braves, and Giants in the 70s. I’m English, myopic, bearded, a recovering cigarette smoker, left-handed, and for want of a less hifalutin word, an artist. The last two of those facts are pertinent. In this, my first post at NotGraphs, and the next, my second post for NotGraphs, I will be presenting to you the results of an experiment I performed a few days ago: drawing wrong-handed. That is, drawing with my weaker right hand. Or, for the sake of cutesy baseball-themed titling of such things: switch-drawing. Below, I have switch-drawn all of the current baseball parks, fields, and stadiums of the National League. It will not surprise you to learn that the second such post will be of American League parks. Please to enjoy.
